POSITION PURPOSE:
The purpose of this role is to provide spiritual oversight, vision and leadership to assist in developing a healthy reproducing church. This role supports ministries to: Cantonese, English, Mandarin and Children.
AREA OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Provide proactive and strong leadership and leadership training
2. Have a balanced dynamic preaching and teaching ministry
3. Provides pastoral care personally and through other trained care-givers
4. Provides strong organisation and administration management in church operations
EDUCATION and COMPETENCIES :
• Godly man – walking with God and growing in the knowledge of Him.
• Ordained Pastor, compatible with the Associated Gospel Churches of Canada.(agcofcanada.com)
• University degree with seminary training. M. Div preferred.
• Minimum 10 years’ experience (preferably 15 years) in ministering in a tri-language church (English, Cantonese and Mandarin)
• Demonstrated supervisory ability in leading pastoral teams and church staff.
• Excellent interpersonal relationship skills at all levels.
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) in Cantonese with strong ability in English and Mandarin.
• Strong understanding of Chinese culture & the Canadian Chinese church context.
• Strong cross-cultural leadership ability to coordinate church-wide ministries.
• Proven success in negotiating and resolving conflicting priorities and views.
• Demonstrated work life balance - living a healthy lifestyle within your family and workplace.

Responsibilities:
Leading the Children’s Ministry (classes, activities and projects) to promote and model biblical discipleship to:
Draw children to faith in Christ
Help children to follow Christ
Inspire children to serve Christ
Introduce children to serving all nations
Partnering with parents by:
Supporting and equipping them in discipling children
Building a discipling community among MGC families
Relationally coaching people to develop, organize, synchronize, and recruit disciples and workers
Qualifications:
Strong biblical disciple
Gifted in connecting and ministering to children
Able to work with and encourage parents
Leadership, communication, and shepherding skills
College or University graduate; emphasis in Christian education preferred
Comfortable in a multicultural environment and able to minister in English, Cantonese and Mandarin
